Step 7
Today you need to take your "before" pictures. I know its not pleasant to take before pictures but they are ESSENTIAL! Tracking visually has a lot of impact and helps you to see the changes even when the scale doesn't seem to be moving. I always share my coach Vanessa's pictures because she had a slightly discouraging start. She took the attached pictures Day 1 of her first round of the 21 Day Fix on the right and Day 7 on the left. She actually GAINED two pounds her first week and she said if she hadn't taken the photos and seen the progress she would have given up. Our bodies all act differently while we gain muscle and lose weight. Just as the scale is a tool so are the photos we will take throughout the process! I also recommend taking your measurements for the same reason, sometimes we don't see weight loss one week but you drop inches and those facts help keep us motivated and encouraged! The second picture is her results from the whole 21 days, so even though she gained two pounds her first week, she still ended up losing ten pounds in the last 14 days! The third picture is another one of my challengers. She was breastfeeding when she started the program so she had to account for that in her calorie intake which slows down the results. She only lost 2 pounds but she lost 14 inches!! She was thrilled with her transformation but she said if it weren't for the measurements and photos she would have quit when the scale wasn't budging. Today's assignment is to take pictures and add them to the group app. I give you my solemn vow that no one will ever see them and I will never ever use pictures without consent from a challenger, but in order for me to do my best as a coach I need to know where you started and if you are making progress. If you aren't then we can look back through and figure out where trouble areas might be for you, but it's too easy to hide in an online group! I recommend wearing something more form fitting like a tank top and work out pants or shorts. I also recommend wearing the same outfit each week when you take your pictures so you have true comparison.
At this point, you should be ready to go, but if you have any questions or need help with anything from this preseason week let me know and I will help you get it figured out. The program runs Monday- Sunday so take a look at the schedule below and see which workout YOU will be starting with depending on the day you choose to join us. :)
